Nathan Legardy, Nathan, Nate, Coach...

Nathan Legardy husband of Dr. Badia Legardy and father of Lauren and Nathan Jr. has been in the Homewood-Flossmoor community for over 30 years and is an alumnus of Homewood-Flossmoor High School (class of 1989). Nathan graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Finance and is a lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. His parents are retired educators and his dad Byron Legardy was the former dean and associate principal at Homewood-Flossmoor. Depending on how long you’ve known Nathan, you are aware of his key development role in his company Phil & Nate Productions built from the ground up to over 40 employees hosting premier events nationally, or you may know him for the reputation he’s built as a consummate professional in the executive search industry as many residents have benefited from his expertise in recruiting and career readiness.

In 2009, Nathan was looking for a meaningful summer activity for his kids that challenged them physically and mentally. He started listing elements of the ideal program, but the lack of locally available options, urged him to create Wiz Kids Sports Camps: an academic and sports enrichment program that has successfully mentored, trained and educated thousands of youth for the past decade. Nathan’s commitment to the students and parents in Homewood-Flossmoor became more evident when he put his professional career on the line and turned down the “partner track” at his firm to continue building the Wiz Kids legacy.  Nathan’s longtime history and work in the community has given him a unique perspective on engaging the needs of the people in a different way. In previous elections, he beat the pavement in support for qualified candidates because of his belief that all citizens in the community should have others in power representing the interests of everyone. Now the time has come for Nathan to lead from a new position.

In 2019, Nathan Legardy is seeking a school board seat to advocate for Homewood-Flossmoor with an emphasis on youth excellence, talent development, and resource equity. He was recently asked about the current state of affairs and said, “as a district we are good, but yes we can be better, and the standard for Homewood-Flossmoor should always strive to be the best. Legardy’s extensive career in executive search has equipped him to understand talent, talent sourcing, as well as identifying and articulating value proposition on all sides of a negotiation. Supporting this campaign with your vote, hosting an event, or volunteering will mean that you’re committed to the best that Homewood-Flossmoor has to offer. Nathan Legardy… “Champion of the HF Community”.
